Keep alumbre inside of a clear glass gonly with water under your bed for peaceful sleep. Alumbre is also placed in the center of your boveda or ancestor altar. It is put inside of a clear glass gonly filled with fresh water. This can also be put on its own or in water next to your front door for cleansing and protection. If keeping it in water, you need to change the water once a week. The goblet needs to be filled with water all the way to the top.
